Competence award for Klaus Fischer Professor Klaus Fischer, president, CEO and owner of the fischer group of companies, has received the 2010 Competence Award of the Land of Baden-Württemberg. This is the first award in the Business Personality category.
The Competence Award is given to entrepreneurs and enterprises which have launched and implemented exemplary modern innovation and quality management in their operational practice and have so accomplished sustained and measurable business success. The award, first given in 2008 by the trade fair enterprise Schall and the Steinbeis Transfer Centre TQU, is sponsored by the Steinbeis Foundation for Business Promotion in Stuttgart. The award ceremony was held at the Land Fair in Stuttgart during the opening of the 24th Control, the international trade fair for quality assurance.
In his award address, Professor Dr. Heinz Trasch, president of the Steinbeis Foundation, highlighted both the outstanding implementation of innovation and quality within the fischer group of companies and the admirable social commitment of CEO Klaus Fischer in the education of young people. The owner, he continued, was one of the first to introduce a binding corporate culture which eventually found its expression in the fischer mission statement. Klaus Fischer has also encouraged an understanding of innovation which goes well beyond new products and which encompasses every process in the whole of the company. In his acceptance speech, Klaus Fischer stressed that it is the people working for his company who are the true and most important corporate asset: “They move our company ahead day by day. This is why I see this award more as an honour for the entire staff and workforce of our company and not so much for me personally”.
