fischer China at Expo 2010
Better City, Better Life is the motto of the World Exhibition Expo 2010 which takes place in the Chinese city of Schanghai until 31st October. fischer products bear up some of the most interesting buildings.
The landmark of the Expo ground is Expo Axis, which is an approx. 1,000 metres long central boulevard at Pudong. It is spanned over by the world biggest membrane construction. It’s building area has a surface of about 65,000 m² and a span length of 100 m. In between six 45 m high hoppers made of steel and glas were formed by a double twisted bars.
Expo Axis leads from the main entrance to China-Pavillon, Themes-Pavillon, Expo-Center and the area at the river Huangpu. It is 110 metres wide and ranges over two subterraneous levels. Expo Axis belongs to those five buildings which should be stayed put after Expo 2010.
fischer China managed to establish fischer fixing systems in some of these projects. About 5,000 cartridges FIS V 360S were used for post-installed rebars for the foundation wall of Expo-Axis. The sub-construction for the curtain walls of China Pavillion, Expo-Center and Expo-Culture-Center were fixed with 6,200 different resin capsules and threaded rods RM 12, RM 16 and RM 20 as well as fischer FRS. Totally 300,000 RM 12 were applied for curtain walls of the Expo Apartments Village. At the Japanese Pavillion a temporary steel-construction was fixed with injection mortar FIS V 360 S. Approx. 20.000 undercut-anchors FZP bear facade-elements of Expo-Culure-Center and some house of Expo-Village. Finally for fixing a steel-construction in the Expo Power Center another 8,000 RM 24 were used.
