
Dear reader,
Following my father and with me the second generation, I have run our family-owned business for thirty years now. Today, fischer is a global player with four business divisions: fixing systems, automotive systems, fischertechnik and process consulting. Our growth, sustained for decades, and our market leadership are owed in no small measure to our powers of innovation – we see innovation in terms of “renewal” and we live this philosophy. This renewal is not limited to our products. Day by day we also review technical methods, our organisation and all our business processes and look for ways to improve these and how to avoid waste with the aim of creating more benefits for our customers and our enterprise.
We are a wholly family-owned business, run ideally by a member of the Fischer family which we see as the best solution. For us, it is not shareholders or quarterly reports which are the measure of all things, but our customers and their needs, and the people who work for us. Our thinking and actions follow long-term objectives. And, if circumstances call for it, short decision-making channels help us to respond fast and flexibly to changing conditions.
Our mission statement defines the values which are binding for everybody working in our company and which determine our actions in reaching our goals: innovative, responsible, respectable. This and the process of continuous improvement require qualified and committed people with a sense of entrepreneurship and business. It is our people who are our most important assets – not plant, equipment and machinery. This is why we invest heavily in training and education. After all, ignoring our employees’ skills and knowledge would be the biggest waste.
